Haunting Your Yard!

A blog about Halloween & how-to’s!

Halloween is around the corner!

Jul-21-2009

So we ended up selling a vast majority of our props – and I look at the old pictures with a little sadness.  On the other hand, we just don’t have the time to dedicate to the set up, etc. right now, not to mention the storage of so much stuff!

But we will still be decorating for Halloween – the main thing we won’t be doing is the graveyard.  It was a LOT of work.  It also did some pretty good damage to our grass each year that would take it about a year to bounce back from.

So if you are into Halloween and plan to start making props for the first time or add props to your set up, you better get started!  And if you’ve got some great ideas you’d like to share, send us a note – we’d love to hear from you and post your ideas!

  1. Jeremy Said,

Damage to your lawn? How much damage, because I may re-consider a graveyard this year if it causes a lot of damage. By the way, the lighting is what makes your haunt! And what did you use for a fog chiller? Good Work!

  2. JodiKay Said,

It would kill the grass in the places where stuff sat – especially the heavier pieces. We would set up at the beginning of October and once we set it up, we stopped watering. Well, here in Colorado with the intense sun, we can still get warm days. So the grass got pretty stressed.

For a fog chiller we made one using a plastic trash can with the lid and wound the tubing inside of it.
